Sponsorship

I have had a lot of help along the way and I know that I wouldn’t have achieved what I have without my parents and my sponsors.  So let me first start by saying THANK YOU!   RBC Dominion Securities has been incredible over the past year – their moral and financial support has been hugely appreciated.  Middlefield Group has recently joined as a main corporate sponsor; thank you to everyone at Middlefield.  They have a history of supporting athletes and other great causes (1, 2) so it is an honour to be associated with them.  Their hope is that their sponsorship will encourage others to jump on board as well!

The culture around sponsorship is gradually changing in Canada.  The Vancouver Olympics was instrumental in showing Canadians and corporate Canada that there is value in sponsoring our athletes.  The mentality is shifting from one of philanthropy to one that sees athletes as assets that can add value to your company.  Canadians have seen the positive results of supporting our Olympians and corporate Canada has started to see the potential as well.

Sadly, rowing is a full time job that does not pay very much.  If I didn’t love my sport so much, I would lament about how much I would be making had I chosen a different sport!  The fact is that we rely on outside funds to allow us to train freely and compete at the highest level.  Sponsorship agreements are crucial to that peace of mind and that ability to focus solely on training and recovering.

To reach a wide variety of potential sponsors, I have put together Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages for both corporate and individual sponsors.  Help me to fill 8+s of personal sponsors at the Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels (depicted below)!  If you, or anyone you know, would like to know more about what I can offer at all of these different levels please email me at scott@scottfrandsen.com.
